The International Association of Veterinary Editors (IAVE) is a professional organization of editors from peer-reviewed veterinary journals. The IAVE is dedicated to enhancing animal research and health by advancing the dissemination of knowledge and promoting excellence in veterinary publishing. The organization strives to achieve its mission through various objectives, including but not limited to:

  • dicussing key updates in the field

  • fostering international interaction

  • supporting professional development of editors

  • improving editorial standards and practices across the field

  • promoting best practices with respect to bioethical principles and publication ethics

  • enhancing the quality of scientific writing

  • continually improving the peer review process

  • promoting editorial independence

European Association of Science Editors (EASE)

The IAVE has held several meetings in conjunction with the biannual conference of the European Association of Science Editors. Through this successful partnership, IAVE members can register for EASE conferences at the member rate, taking advantage of the wide array of excellent speakers, research papers, and educational sessions. WORLD ASSOCIATION OF MEDICAL EDITORS (WAME)

Several members of IAVE also are members of WAME. WAME is a global association of medical editors who seek to foster cooperation and communication among editors and improve editorial standards and professionalism in medical editing. SAN FRANCISCO DECLARATION ON RESEARCH ASSESSMENT
